Colville is a the largest city in Stevens County, Washington, United States. The population was 4,988 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Stevens County and the largest city in northeastern Washington.

Colville, claimed to be founded by John U. Hofstetter, was officially incorporated on June 7, 1890.
[edit] Geography
Colville is located in northern Stevens County along Highway 395, about 70 miles north of Spokane, Washington. The city lies to the east of the Colville River.
Despite the similarity of name, the Colville Tribe does not hold lands near the city of Colville, but rather in neighboring Ferry County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.2 km² (2,4 mi²), all land.
