The basic building block of this site is a "Page". Any signed in user can create and edit pages. In general, any wiki page consists of several major types of information:

[edit] Adding, removing, and changing text on a page (Editing)
Text is the heart and soul of a wiki page. No matter how you dress it up, a page is only as good as the words, sentences, and paragraphs that it consists of. Text is also the simplest information to add to a wiki. Simply edit a page, and then begin typing in the text box that appears. The changes you make will show up as soon as you press the "Save page" button.
[edit] Connecting pages together (Links)
Although its conceivable to put the entire encyclopedia of Stevens County on a single wiki page, it would be pretty unweildy to do so. Complicated information is best dealt with through organized, bite-sized chunks (pages). "Links" are special instructions for your computer that allow you to "browse" to other pages from the current page. Links, like text, are entered while editing a page, but use special notation and page location information. Link syntax is discussed here.
[edit] Making text look fancy (Formatting)
- For italics, type two single quotation marks ' ' before and after text. Without spaces, ' ' Hi! ' ' becomes Hi!'
- For bold, type three single quotation marks ' ' ' before and after text. Without spaces, ' ' ' Gah! ' ' ' becomes Gah!
